Hailing from Brazil, Julia is an award-winning illustrator and comics creator with a background in art, animation, fashion, and research. Employing a multidisciplinary and multicultural approach to her work, she aims to tell stories through simple images. For this project she examines challenging themes like environmentalism and mental health difficulties. Julia currently lives in Sweden, where she works as a freelance illustrator, draws autobiographical comics, and runs the anthology project ToCo – the Tokyo Collective, co-founded by herself.
